There is so much that comes with blooming. Planting seeds. Watering and nurturing your soils. Connecting with your roots. Pulling weeds. It's a multifaceted process that is different for every individual.
On a regular, people associate blooming with reaching their full potential and gaining a sense of happiness. I often hear things like, "This is the year that I will reach my highest self" or "As soon as I get this one thing, or achieve this one goal, then I will be happy." While these aren't necessarily false, they aren't quite true either.
Achieving goals and obtaining things we've always wanted can increase our happiness and add to our full potential, but it doesn't stop there. As human beings, we are forever growing, and with growth comes change. There will be a multitude of things that add to our process of floruishing on a daily basis.
The pure essence of blooming is an endless cycle. Many people see it as a journey with a beginning and ending point, but in all honesty, blooming is like a washer machine. We go through a routine of cleansing; of reaching deeper and connecting with the core of our true self. Things that aren't meant to be on our journey gets washed away, and other things stick and never fade.
I used to be set on the idea that blooming had an ending point. I figured that once I accomplished something, such as learning how to speak up for myself, then I had finally bloomed. I held the belief that there was nothing greater to be done within me, so I became content with where I was. I soon figured out I had much more growth to obtain. Yes, I had learned how to speak up for myself, and after shying away from my voice for so long, that was a milestone for me. But even with being able to use the power within my voice, I had to learn how to be open to other perspectives instead of being narrow-minded. I had to learn how to know when to speak and when to save voice. That's when I realized that the essence of growing is on-going.
We must understand that blooming is a life-long activity of tending to our gardens. It's a daily commitment that we have to condition ourselves to. Some days our flowers will stand tall, and other days they will wilt. But every day, we will bloom.
We try to shorten the process, hoping we can accomplish it within a designated time frame. The beauty is in the journey that has no end, though. Growth is a natural part of our souls; a continuous process that is inevitable. We bloom through shedding petals. We bloom through growing towards the sun. We bloom through the storms of life that shower upon us. We bloom in the stillness of our being.
Every second is a moment to bloom and an opportunity for growth. You are going to be spending the rest of your life learning about yourself. growing within yourself and discovering new pieces of your soul. So take your time with it. Be proud of the fruits that you produce. Learn how to pull weeds that detract from your growth, and understand the deeper meaning of the petals you lose. Trust your process, and continue to sow your seeds into the beds of the earth.
Every individual has different ingredients for blooming. Find your batch. take your time. Make this trip a beautiful and intimate one.
